JDRF and Eli's Encouragers

Each week we make our NFL picks against a 7-year-old kid.  We have been doing this since he was a 4-year-old (he won that year by the way), and while you know that he is a better gambler that us, something you may not know is that when he was 2 years old he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.

Type 1 Diabetes is currently an incurable disease that requires multiple finger pricks and insulin injections in order to survive.  Great strides are being made in the treatments for T1D, but there is still no cure.  But we hope to change that, which is why each year we participate in the JDRF One Walk in Fort Worth.

Eli's Encouragers have been astoundingly supportive and generous, raising over $25,000 over the last 4 years, with over 250 walkers showing up on walk day.  Last year we had 100 walkers.

If you would like to become one of Eli's Encouragers, it is very simple.  We have a blog with all of the details about the walk and the spaghetti dinner we are having on October 11.  We also have a Facebook page and Twitter account.  We'd love for you (or your company if you're so inclined) to become part of our team!
