2015 NFL Picks Against an 8-Year-Old - The Winner Is...

Yes, you read that right. Here it is, Opening Day of the 2016 NFL season, and I am just now getting around to posting the final results to the 2015 picks contest between us grizzled NFL experts and a little kid. I could give you all sorts of excuses as to why that happened, but it's been so long, if I did have an excuse, I can't even remember what it is. So sorry.

As I went through Week 17 to give the final tally, I realized it was good that I didn't update results. Because they were terrible. We all were terrible.

However, for the 3rd time in 5 years, the kid came out on top. It was a close race to the finish, but he held off a late season charge from JDaddy to claim the prize. Congrats to him.

Week 17 NFL Picks Against an 8-Year-Old

Happy New Year from the Cheap Seats.  The gap between JDaddy and the kid has closed heading into the last week.  JDaddy is now 5 back.  That's a lot to make up in one week, but it can be done.

Merry Christmas everyone!  The kid must have been counting his presents under the tree last week.  He slipped a little bit, but I still don't know if it was enough to give anyone else any hope.

Week 15 NFL Picks Against an 8-Year-Old

Last week I compared our picks to the stretch run of a horse race. JDaddy was coming on strong, but the kid felt the pressure, dug in his heels, and pulled away.  We all had respectable weeks-unusual for the Cheap Seats-but the 8-year-old had the best week.  He picked the right time to finally go against the Cowboys.

The best season ever was in 2012 when yours truly went 137-113-6.  The kid needs to pick 30 winners in the last 3 weeks of the season.  Won't be easy, but who's going to bet against him?

Week 14 NFL Picks Against an 8-Year-Old

Just like a great thoroughbred, JDaddy is making his move as we turn the corner to head down the homestretch.  The 8-year-old is maintaining his lead, but after back-to-back 11-5 weeks, JDaddy has climbed into second with his sights on the kid.  The biggest problem for JDaddy is that he needs to kid to have a bad week, which rarely seems to happen.  Still, with 4 weeks to go, 9 games doesn't seem to be that big of a deficit.

The kid didn't win the week, but he expanded his lead yet again with a solid 10-6 week.  JDaddy had a great week with 11 wins.  2 straight last place finishes by Uncle J has allowed JDaddy out of the cellar.  Can anyone catch the kid?
